A shooting took place on Tuesday evening at the Newtown Mini Mart, according to Detective Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Two individuals were shot and taken to the hospital emergency room by personal vehicle.
One person still remains in the hospital, and one person has been treated and released.
The person treated and released was also charged in the incident.
James Sellers, age 31, of Dillon, was charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.
Arnette said that while the details of the incident are sketchy it appears that there was some type of confrontation between the two individuals that led to gunshots.
