The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) reminds property owners near streets and highways to be careful about using lawn sprinklers during cold weather. Water that runs off the property and into the roadways can freeze overnight creating dangerous driving conditions.
SCDOT asks that property owners, particularly businesses that have sprinklers turned on automatically consider adjusting timers to prevent runoff that could freeze up on the highways.
