The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking comment from the public on a proposal to amend the Statewide Multimodal Transportation Plan.
Five interstate-related projects including I-73 from I-95 to US 501 in Dillon County will be advanced utilizing state bond proceeds and are intended to enhance the movement of people and goods while supporting economic development in the State of South Carolina.
Other projects include:
* I-85 at US 276 (Laurens Road) Interchange in Greenville County
* John Hardee Expressway/I-26 in Lexington County
* I-26 from Montague Avenue to Exit 218 in Charleston County
* I-26 from US 17 Alt to Jedburg Road in Berkeley County
Pending SCDOT Commission’s consideration of public comments, the proposed projects will be included in the Statewide Multimodal Transportation Plan.
At such time as the bond issuance is approved by the appropriate state entities, the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) in coordination with the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) will be amended.
