A body was found in the water off State Line Road on Wednesday, May 11 according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Arnette said 9-1-1 received a call about 4:15-4:30 on Wednesday from some people who were fishing and said they saw something suspicious in the water that may be a body.
Arnette said it was a body and was badly decomposed. It was later determined to be a man, but law enforcement officials have no idea as to the man’s identity.
An autopsy was done. SLED is assisting in the matter.
