The Eastern Carolina Community Foundation awarded two grants for a total of $20,000 during their annual meeting held earlier in May announced Susan Bankson, Executive Director.
One $10,000 grant is being presented to the McLeod Foundation for a program targeting diabetes patients who are unable to afford care for this chronic disease. The other $10,000 grant is to the Care First Foundation as a matching-type grant to aid their quest for an additional dental unit in their Miles of Smiles program. Both of these programs will have a significant impact on residents of several of the counties served by the Foundation. These grants were made from the Foundation’s Regional Enrichment following a grant process that included more than 20 organizations submitting grant proposals for this grant cycle. The Foundation covers the counties of Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion, Marlboro, and Williamsburg.
