An area student recently attended Coker Connection, an intense two-day adventure/experiential learning program that provides students the opportunity to connect with fellow freshmen, stay in the residence halls and get connected to campus before orientation.
The program concentrates on goal setting and relationship building in an effort to position students for a successful start to their Coker College career. Activities included a trip to the US National White Water Center in Charlotte, N.C., where students were challenged mentally and physically to work on team building and problem solving skills with classmates.
The local student is Octavia Hemingway, an incoming freshman from Latta.
