One person has been arrested in a murder in Lake View on July 22nd, according to Chief James T. McDaniels.
Brandon Terrell Whittington, 20, 1208 Nichols Highway, Lake View, has been charged with murder.
According to a report by Officer Matthew Townsend, he responded to a call of a possible gunshot victim at 1000 Main Street where he found a black male lying behind a vehicle face down on the sidewalk.
The report states that Coroner Donnie Grimsley pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Coroner Grimsley identified the deceased man as Dustin Duane Jarvis Shuler, age 28, of Lake View.
On July 23rd, Whittington was arrested by a Dillon County Sheriff’s deputy on Blake Street in Dillon.
