Services for Carl Douglas Hyatt was held 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Hyatt, 75, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, April 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Benny Atlas Hyatt and Evelyn Lucille Jackson Hyatt. He was a member of Latta Baptist Church, and attended Pyerian Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a high school baseball official for 48 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hyatt of Latta; children, Vickie Lynn Strobles of Biloxi, Mississippi, Charlene (Ray) Howard, and Donna Hyatt Marriot, both of Peculiar, Missouri, Carla Hyatt (John) Lovelace, and Larry Lane, Jr., both of Latta, and Dennis Lane of Latta; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Black of Latta.
Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Justin Allen Lane.
