Dillon’s Lady Wildcats improved their record to 13-5 this week with wins over Loris and Waccamaw.
The Lady Wildcats defeated Loris 60-42 on Friday, January 20, at home in Dillon.
Dillon took a strong 18-2 lead in the first quarter, and despite a 13-8 rally from Loris in the second, the Lady Wildcats still led 26-15 at the half. Dillon returned to the court to outscore the Lions 13-10 and 21-17 in the remaining quarters to secure the win.
Khadejhia Sellers led Dillon with 16 points, with Chelsea Frazier earning 15 and Briana Lee scoring 13. Jessica Swindler added seven points, and Na’Kedra Page earned five, with Tara Grimsley and Zipporah Lighty each earning two.
On Tuesday, Dillon hosted Waccamaw for a 59-27 win. The Lady Wildcats went 13-4 and 22-3 in the first half to lead 35-7 at the half, and went 10-4 in the third to put them ahead 34 points. Waccamaw managed to outscore Dillon 16-14 in the final quarter, but barely made a dent in the Wildcat lead as Dillon claimed the win.
Khadejhia Sellers was again the high-scorer, earning a game-high 21 points for the Wildcats. Chelsea Frazier and Zipporah Lighty each added 10 points, with jessica Swindler earning six and Na’Kedra Page earning five. Brianna Lee scored three points, Pam Robinson scored two, and Cali McRae added one point in the win.
Waccamaw’s Aaliyah Hudson earned 16 points to lead the Warriors, with Rachael Thornton adding seven and Mary Taylor earning four.
Dillon’s overall record improves to 13-5 with a 3-2 record in Region 8-AA.
The Wildcats were scheduled to host Latta on Wednesday and on Friday, they’ll hit the road to take on Aynor at 6:00 p.m.
