Retired Sgt. First Class Robert McGill, 79, of 5482 Maplewood Court, Fayetteville died Wednesday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Funeral services were conducted on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Herring Funeral Care Chapel. Burial followed in the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with full military honors. He was born September 21, 1932 in Dillon to the late Clifton and Savannah McGill and was retired from the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Annie M. McGill of the home; a daughter, Vanessa Bildon of Little Rock, SC; a son, Byford Fitzgerald of High Point, NC; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
