Richland School District Two’s Round Top Elementary School is receiving national accolades for establishing an outstanding counseling program. Round Top will receive the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation during a special ceremony in June at the American School Counselor Association’s annual conference in Minnesota.
Principal Jeaneen Tucker says she is grateful to have a guidance counselor who understands the importance of building a foundation of trust with each child and provides a safe environment for students to share fears. “As a former school counselor I am keenly aware of the impact a quality guidance program can provide. Mr. Will Moody has developed a comprehensive model that profoundly affects our precious children as they learn to navigate in our increasingly complicated world. His expertise with technology engages every student. Ask any RTE student about Mr. Moody and they will beam with excitement as they tell you how much they learn from him each year!”
The RAMP designation, awarded to schools whose counseling programs align with the criteria set in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and creating an exemplary education environment. Round Top is the first school in Richland Two to achieve this award and one of 19 schools in the state.
Will Moody is a native of Dillon and a graduate of Dillon High School and has B.A. from the college of Charleston and an M.A. + 30 from USC in Columbia.
He is the son of Rebecca and Bill Moody of Dillon. He will attend the ASCA conference in Minneapolis in June to receive the award.
