James McNeil “Smoogo” Patterson, 83, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at McLeod Medical Center-Dillon.
Graveside services were held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in Rowland Cemetery in Rowland, NC directed by Cooper Funeral Home of Dillon, SC. Visitation was 6-8 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born in Robeson County, NC, February 18, 1929, he was the son of the late George L. Patterson and Edna McDaniel Edwards. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, was a member of the Rowland Presbyterian Church, and was retired from Dixiana Mill.
Survivors include his nephew, Brantley (Angie) Patterson of Dillon; great-nephews, Ian, Brendon, & Bryce Patterson of Dillon; numerous other nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Brantley “Mac” Patterson, George L. Patterson, Jr., and Robert H. Patterson, Sr.
