South Carolina Superintendent of Education Mick Zais recently visited Dillon School District Four.
While here, Zais made stops at East Elementary School, Gordon Elementary School, and Dillon High School.
Zais does not believe in leading from behind a desk so he regularly takes trips out of Columbia to visit the state’s schools. These were Zais’ 94th, 95th, and 96th school visits in the less than two school terms that he has been in office.
Zais said that Dillon County has a very good school board and an impressive chairman in Richard Schafer. He said the board understands it is not their job to micromanage the schools. Zais also had praise for Superintendent Ray Rogers.
Zais said he felt the new team that was in place will head the district in the right direction.
