Leonard Watson, 79, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Dillon County, August 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert Watson and Hettie Watson. He attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Grove Church, and was U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Mickey” Watson of Dillon; sons, Alton (Dale) Watson, Ronnie (Charleen) Watson, and Tommy (the late Brenda) Watson all of Dillon; daughters, Susan (Derrick) Rogers and Lisa (Brent) Rogers both of Fork; brothers, Bobby Watson, Lamar Watson, and Joseph “Buddy” Watson all of Dillon; special canine friend, Minnie Watson; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Watson and Willie Watson.
