Barbara Ann Pittman, age 80, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Agape Nursing Home.
Born in Pinehurst, NC, she was a daughter of the late Caleb and Katie Byrd.  Mrs. Pittman was a 1949 graduate of Dillon High School.  She was president of Pee Dee Area Women’s Insurance Association and a member of Garden City Baptist Church where she volunteered in the Daycare. Mrs. Pittman loved her family and enjoyed quilting.  She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wilds Clemmons.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Robert Pittman of Garden City; a son, Frank Pittman (Nina) of Easley, SC; daughters, Bobbie Jean Sessions of Garden City, Becky Clemmons of Marion, Bonnie Ford of Surfside Beach and Melissa Coley of Iowa; a brother, Benjamin Byrd of Garden City; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Alan Cooper of Garden City.
A funeral service washeld at 3 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at Garden City Baptist Church.  The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.
