The Dillon/Marion Home School Group held a Mock Election on Tuesday, November 6 at Little Rock Baptist Church.
Before the election, students were asked to study issues on voting and to learn about the mascots of each political party. Last month, students registered to vote and were given a Home School voter’s Registration card.
After presenting the card at the polling site, each student was required to sign in. Then, the student received a ballot which was appropriate to the district in which he/she lives. The students voted to elect officials, pass amendments and to decide issues relating to the Home School Group. After voting, the students participated in a trivia challenge about voting and politics. The group visited Whtitaker School, a polling site in Little Rock, and were given a tour.
They were able to watch an adult complete an electronic ballot.
