Vera Lee Byrd Snipes, 91, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at McLeod Medical Center-Dillon.
Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M. Friday in Pyerian Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.  Visitation was Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Dillon County, November 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John Byrd and Susan Jean Herring Byrd.  She was a member of Pyerian Baptist Church, was a homemaker, and the widow of the late Loyd Snipes.
Survivors include her sons, Nelson (Vickie) Snipes, and Willie (Nancy) Snipes all of Dillon, and Harold (Jean) Snipes of Latta; daughter, Vonnie Lee of the home; daughter-in-law, Fran Snipes of Latta; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Snipes was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Snipes and Jerry Snipes.
