On Thursday, January 24, several members of the United Christian Sisterhood, a Christian-oriented organization of Lake View, visited the Lake View Middle School to present supplies to the students.
They look forward to giving “Book Bag” Items to contribute to the learning environment of our children. This is an annual Service Project to show support for our schools.
Mr. Edison Arnette, Principal ,and Dr. Kendra Green, Assistant Principal, welcomed the ladies and received the array of items.
Teachers often use their personal money to buy necessities for their students. Mr. Arnette expressed appreciation to the Sisterhood and stated on behalf of his staff and students that these supplies are welcomed and needed. He led the group on a tour of the newly built school and introduced us to several teachers, staff and students. They were impressed with the state of art facilities, dedicated staff and the well behaved students who were actively engaged in learning.
Ms. Janie Lyles, a retired educator is the Leader of the Sisterhood. Ms. Wilhelmena Ford is the Vice-Leader. The organization has a membership of more than thirty Members. “It takes a Village to Raise a Child” (African Proverb).
