Sara Lynn Elvington, age 84, of Lake View, died April 9, 2013 at Marion Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday at Cook Funeral Home of Lake View. Graveside services will be held at Lake View Cemetery at 4 p.m.
Born in Robinson County on September 19, 1928, she was the daughter of Joseph Hubert and Zula Walters Atkinson and the step-daughter of Mamie Prevatte Atkinson.
She was the widow of William Harold Elvington.
Survivors include sons, Danny Elvington (Wanda), Sammy Elvington (Kathy), and Steve Elvington (Diane); brother, J.T. Atkinson of Fairmont, NC, and sister, Virginia Anderson of Washington State; grandchildren, Chris Elvington of Columbia, Allie Elvington of Lake View, Matthew Elvington of Lake View, Shandra Elvington of Pittsburgh, PA, and Sam Elvington, of Pittsburgh, PA; and great-grandchildren, Addie Grace Elvington and Sara Beth Elvington.
She was predeceased by a son, William Elvington.
