Services for Sara Carolyn Turner were held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Holiness Church in Latta with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home and at other times at Shanda Thurlo’s home, 404 E. Roosevelt St., Dillon.
Mrs. Turner, 70, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at her residence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, October 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Justin Bailey and Pearlie Mae Ivey Bailey.  She was a member of Trinity Holiness Church, and was retired from Wix.
Survivors include her husband, George B. Turner, Jr. of Dillon; children, Fonda Blackard Beaver (Pat) of Rock Hill,  SC, Sarah Blackard of Dillon, Sonnie Blackard (Jenny) of Dillon, Michael Blackard of CoCo Beach, FL, Freddie Blackard, George B. Turner, III (Terri), Glenn Turner (Connie), and Gina Sims (Allen), all of Lake View, Shanda Thurlo (Wess) of Dillon, and Brenda Bailey Sharp of Latta; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Bailey of Dillon, and Maxine Bryant (Frank) of Latta; brothers, Bryan Bailey of Dillon, Matthew Bailey of Longs, NC, and Carroll Bourgoin of Dillon.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Bailey; and her sister, Mildred Barnes.
