Dear Editor:
I live up in the north eastern part of Dillon County known as the Carolina Section. It is a great place to live but for the longest time we were out of sight and out of mind for some county services like fire and trash. Our nearest fire department was once over 20 miles away giving us little hope of saving our property in the event of a fire and we had to load our trash and haul it all the way to Little Rock. A lot of our wooded areas are littered with trash that some illegally dumped because they refused to make the long trip to dispose of it properly.
This has recently changed and we want to thank County Council and specifically our Councilman Mr. Andrew “Deboy” Graves. We now have a full time manned fire station and just three weeks ago our new trash station was opened giving everyone in this area no more than a five mile trip for both. Thank you County Council and Councilman Graves for both.
