Dillon Christian School hosted Open House on Tuesday, August 13th from 5:00 – 7:00  p.m.
There was a wonderful turn out with standing room only in Warrior Hall during the Parent/Head of School meeting.  During the address, Mrs. Mussman described all the updates that had been accomplished this summer.
The updates included newly painted walls in the halls and classrooms, new carpet, Promethean Boards placed in eighteen classrooms, and five new computers in the media center.  She shared with them the blessings that the Lord had poured out upon Dillon Christian School, and how thankful to Him we all are along with appreciation to the DCS family and community for their support and prayers.
In addition, it was with great enthusiasm that Mrs. Mussman also introduced the new faculty members that have joined the DCS family.
They are as listed: Mrs. Patricia Smith who will be teaching 6th grade English and Science.  She is also implementing the Daily Five Literacy Program in K5-6th grade.  She earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Masters Degree plus 30 credit hours.  She brings 33 years of teaching experience to Dillon Christian School.
Mrs. Fran Bauguess will be teaching 8th grade S.C. History and 9th grade Geography and American Government.  She earned a Masters Degree in Special Education along with being Nationally Board Certified.  She has taught High School History and Math.  She brings 31 years of teaching experience to Dillon Christian School.
Mrs. Brenda Johnson will be teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math.  She earned her BA and MRE and Masters Degree in Education from Mercer University, Southern Baptist Seminary, and Gardner-Webb.  She brings 24 years of teaching experience to Dillon Christian School.
Mr. Leon Peacock will be teaching Chemistry l and Chemistry ll.  He earned his Bachelor Degree plus 18 credit hours from Clemson University.  He brings 29 years of teaching experience to Dillon Christian School.
Mr. Cody Alexander will be teaching High School Consumer Math, Biology II, Algebra II, and Computer.  He will also serve as a technology consultant for DCS.  He brings 6 years of experience in science laboratory related fields.  He earned his Bachelor’s of Science at the University of South Carolina where he studied Biology and graduated with Honors.
Officer Jamie Hamilton has joined the staff at Dillon Christian School as a full-time Resource Officer.  He has worked with the Dillon Police Department for 20 years.  He attended the Criminal Justice Academy, and has a degree in Criminal Justice.
After the introduction of the new faculty members, Mrs. Mussman went over new procedures for the school year along with asking for more involvement from the parents with the upcoming fundraising events.
She was met with overwhelming eagerness to participate from many parents.
As the Open House came to a close, it was very obvious to all that once again God had poured out many blessings over the evening.  Dillon Christian School’s first day of school was Wednesday, August 14th.
The Board of Directors, Administrative Team, Faculty and Staff, along with the DCS family are anticipating and looking forward to a successful school year.
