Services for Maxine C. Hamer were held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.  Visitation was held 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Hamer, 71, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at her residence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, December 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Cox and Mae Burr Cox.  She was a member of the Dillon Church of God, and was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Walter) Martin of Dillon; son, Danny Hamer, Jr. of Dillon; grandchildren, Walter Martin IV, James Hamer, and Daniel M. Hamer, III; brother, Lonnie Cox of Sumter; sisters, Ruby Hodge and Ruth C. Johnson, both of Dillon.
