KJ Scriven will be performing at PowerHouse Christian Church on Saturday, November 30 at 5 p.m. located 1501 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Dillon.
K.J. Scriven is an exciting and prolific Christian artist hailing out of North Carolina. K.J. brings an anticipated freshness and excitement to the gospel music industry.
K.J.’s blend of soul, contemporary worship, hip hop, and alternative rock has listeners buzzing at the originality and authenticity of his sound. His strong but sincere message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ demonstrates that K.J. uses all of his heart, soul, and his guitar to invoke worship and righteous living to all generations.
Although K.J. has been involved with and surrounded by music his entire life, he recently decided to follow the voice of God and pursue the career of a solo artist in October of 2009. It was during that time, when K.J. released his first and highly reviewed EP, “The Introduction.”
K.J. has toured across the southeast region of the US at numerous events, worship services, youth conferences and jazz/neo soul venues. In June 2011, KJ released “The Acoustic Experiment,” stripping away most musical instrumentation and focusing on the lyrical content to penetrate the listener’s ears and heart.
Not only is KJ an artist, but an incredible song writer, as it shines through in his music.
KJ has recently had 2 song placements on national recording artist projects as co-writer: “Open Up The Heavens” on Shekinah Glory’s “Surrender” album and “Love Came Down” on James Fortune’s Christmas project “Grace Gift.”
KJ had the honor of being apart of the anticipated East Coast/West Coast Live Recording of recording artist Tye Tribbett.
He wrote a song “What Can I Do” featured on the album “Greater Than.”
K.J. believes that, “music is a tool that prepares the ground of people’s hearts so that eventually a seed of truth can be planted.
But a prepared ground with no seed planted yields no fruit.
So music with without ministry is unproductive and pointless.”
K.J. is living proof that God can take an empty vessel and full him with His anointing to be used for His glory. The Praise and Worship Celebration is absolutely free.
Pastor Dean and Lady Tanya Page hope to see you there.
