Doris R. Hamilton, 97, died Monday, January 20, 2014, at McLeod Medical Center-Dillon. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Dillon First Baptist Church with entombment  in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home.  Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Marion County, February 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Allen Richardson and Moranza Tanner Richardson.  She was a member of Dillon First Baptist Church, and was the widow of the late Luther K. Hamilton.
Survivors include her son, Allen (Brenda C.) Hamilton of Dillon; daughter, Sylvia (Watson “Sonny”) Bethea of Hamer; 7 grandchildren, Laurie (Mike) Thompson, Michael Hamilton, Deborah Hope (Joe Wade) McDonald, Michelle (Howard) Humphrey, Sandra (Greg) Callahan, Susan (John) Holladay, and Douglas (Dawn) Bethea; 13 great-grandchildren.
