Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators fell 8-6 to Johnsonville’s Flashes in extra innings on Tuesday night in varsity softball action in Lake View.

Johnsonville scored their first run in the top of the first inning ,but Lake View scored three in the bottom of the first added another run in the third for a 4-1 lead. Johnsonville added two in the top of the fifth, and Jada Parsons hit a double to score Brittany Warren in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 4-4. Neither team could score in the seventh, but Johnsonville’s Macy Poston doubled in the top of the ninth to score Warren and Marley Young and put the Flashes ahead 8-4. Lake View added two runs in the bottom of the ninth, falling just short of the win at 8-6.

Johnsonville’s Savanna Young earned the win on the mound, pitching all nine innings for eight hits, six runs, five earned runs, three walks, and six outs. Marissa Tyndall took the loss for Lake View, pitching nine innings for 17 hits, eight runs, five earned runs, a walk, and two hit bit pitch. She struck out nine in the effort.

At bat for Johnsonville, Parsons went 4-for-5 with two RBI; Marley Young went 2-for-4; and Warren went 2-for-5 with three RBI.

Lake View’s Morgan Herlong went 2-for-4 and Amber Locklear went 2-for-3 to lead the Lady Gators at bat.

Lake View fell to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in Region 8-A, while Johnsonville improved to 3-2 and 3-0 in the region.

The Lady Gators will host Marion tonight at 5:30 p.m. and will host region rival Latta on Tuesday, April 1, at 5:30 p.m.
