Lake View’s Weston Rogers held the Johnsonville Flashes to just one hit on Tuesday night to help the Wild Gators to a 6-0 win in varsity baseball action.

Both teams were scoreless until the bottom of the third when Lake View added two runs. The Gators added two more in the bottom of the fourth inning and sealed the win with two runs in the sixth.

Rogers pitched all seven innings for just one hit and two walks, striking out 10. Brandon Smith took the loss for Johnsonville, pitching 4.3 innings for three hits, four runs, two earned runs, five walks, and two outs.

At bat, Rogers went 2-for-4 with a RBI; Justin Elliott went 1-for-4 with two RBI; and Hunter Stevens and Luc Newell each went 1-for-2.

Lake View improved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in Region 8-A.

The Wild Gators will host Marion tonight at 6:00 p.m. and will host region rival Latta on Tuesday, April 1.
