Latta’s Lady Vikings earned wins over Green Sea-Floyds and Hannah-Pamplico last week but fell to Class 3A’s Darlington in varsity softball action.

On Wednesday night, the Lady Vikings traveled to Green Sea-Floyds for a 15-1 win over the Lady Trojans in six innings.

Anna Rogers earned the win on the mound, pitching six innings for one run, one hit, one walk, and eight outs. Green Sea’s Berry took the loss.

At bat for the Vikings, Genesis Anderson and Mikenzi Caniglia each hit a home run, with Anderson going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Caniglia going 2-for-3. Macy Hyatt also went 3-for-3 with two runs to help lead Latta at bat.

On Thursday, the Lady Vikings traveled to Darlington for a 2-0 loss to the Class 3A Lady Falcons.

Anna Rogers took the loss, pitching six innings for just two runs and two hits with four walks. She struck out 11 in the effort.

On Friday, the Vikings were back at home to host Hannah-Pamplico, shutting out the Lady Raiders 10-0 in five innings. Latta picked up their first run in the bottom of the first inning and picked up five in the second and four in the fourth for the win.

Anna Rogers again earned the win on the mound, pitching all five innings for just two hits and two walks while striking out five. Hannah-Pamplico’s Parrott took the loss, allowing 11 hits, 10 earned runs, and one walk with one out.

At bat for the Vikings, Dori Webster went 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored; Madison Owens went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored; and Maddy Long went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

The Lady Vikings improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Region 8-A.

Latta will travel to Lake View tonight at 5:30 p.m. to face their local and region rivals, the Lady Wild Gators. The Lady Vikings will be at Marion for a double header on Wednesday and will be back at home on Thursday to host Aynor at 6:30 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local team!
