Services for James Earl Norton, Sr. were held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Little Rock Methodist Church Cemetery.  Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Norton, 80, died Monday, April 7, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, September 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Spurgeon Norton, Sr. and Leslie Hershey Norton.  He was the owner of Norton’s Garage and was a member of Oakland Holiness Church.
Survivors include his children, Earline (Larry) Grimsley, Bonnie (Duane) Bowers, and Donald Norton, all of Dillon, Danny (Cindy) Norton of Lake View, Tim (Tammy) Norton, Ellen Norton, both of Dillon, and James Earl Norton, Jr. of Florence; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Rowell Norton; and his grandson, D.J. Norton.
