Three local baseball players were selected to play in the North-South All-Star baseball games to be held June 12-14 at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.
In the Class A/4A game, Latta’s Josh Bowen and Christian Hendrix were both chosen for the South team, along with Jacob Prosser of Johnsonville.
In the final ranking of the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association, Latta was ranked second in the state in Class A, with state champ St. Joseph’s ranked first. Lewisville was third, and Lake View was fourth, with Johnsonville in eighth place.
In the Class 2A/3A game, Dillon’s Weston Bailey was chosen for the South team, along with Tanner Chock of Loris and Brandon Young of Aynor.
In the final Class 2A poll, the Wildcats were ranked eighth in the state. State champs Ninety-Six were ranked first, followed by runner-up Loris, Central, and Wade Hampton.
