Susan Warren McLaurin, 66, died at the McLeod Hospice House Thursday, June 19, 2014. Funeral services were held 3:00  p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Dillon, SC, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. The family  received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each night, Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21 at Mrs. McLaurin’s home, 1215 David St., Dillon, SC. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Mrs. McLaurin was born September 26, 1947 in Dillon, SC, the daughter of the late Dr. James Oliver and Sue Thrasher Warren. She was the widow of John Hugh McLaurin, III. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dillon, SC. Susan had the honor of being a member of the Mayflower Society which is only for decendents of those arriving in America on the Mayflower. She was employed as a secretary with Berry Financial Group.
She is survived by her son, John Hugh McLaurin, IV of Dillon, SC; daughters, Alyson McLaurin McGirt (Kay) of Rowland, NC and Lucy McLaurin Owens (Michael) of Dillon, SC; brother, Joseph Albert Warren (Dawn) of Hendersonville, NC; and grandchildren, Rachael Susanna McGirt, John Kenneth McGirt, Mark Joseph McGirt, and Katelyn Coleman Owens. She was predeceased by a brother, James Oliver Warren, Jr. and a sister, Margaret (Peggy) Hodge Carswell.
