Services for Allen Lamar Bailey, Sr. will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bailey, 93, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Regency Hospital in Florence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, April 22, 1921, he was the son of the late Stephen Frank Bailey and Ellen Allen Bailey. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of the South Carolina National Guard, and also was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon. He was the widower of Ruby Harrelson Bailey.
Survivors include his sons, Allan Bailey, Jr. of Dillon, Mike (Betty) Bailey, Sr. of Dillon, and Stephen (Carole) Bailey of Whiteville, NC; grandchildren, Mike Bailey, Stephen Bailey, and Matthew Bailey; great-grandchildren, Zach Bailey and Katelyn Bailey.
Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 1203 East Cheves St., Florence, SC.
