A proposal from the State Aeronautics Commission for tree removal was recently presented to the Dillon County Council.
The proposal from NaturChem Inc. to clear trees from the approach is $62,250 with SC Aeronautics Commission to reimburse $46,687.50 leaving $15,562.50 as Dillon County’s cost. Young said he recommended taking the funds from the airport budget line item. Councilman Archie Scott motioned to approve. Councilman Bobby Moody seconded and all voted in favor.
County Administrator Clay Young said that Paul Werts, Executive Director, of SC Aeronautics Commission, has offered assistance for development and maintenance of the airport. He recommends Council approve the Memorandum of Agreement with the SC Aeronautics Commission. Councilman Joe Johnson motioned to accept the agreement. Councilman Archie Scott seconded and all were in favor.
