Dillon Mayor Todd Davis has declared the month of October as Project H.O.P.E. month.
The Knights of Columbus Marion/Dillon Council 8790 has been in existence since 1984.
This is a Catholic Fraternal Men’s organization created to help churches and communities dedicated to charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
The Knights of Columbus has adopted intellectual disabilities and serving the special needs classes in Dillon/Marion counties as a project of special concern as part of Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everyday).
They pass out Tootsie Rolls at no charge. Donations raised are distributed to Dillon Districts Three and Four and Marion County Schools Special Needs programs. Last year, $6,134 was given to these schools to support their programs.
Knights of Columbus appreciaties the support of citizens and local businesses.
