The Dillon Christian School Warriors fell 63-37 to the visiting Florence Christian Eagles on Friday, December 19.
Florence Christian took a 15-11 lead in the first quarter and outscored Dillon Christian 22-8 in the second to carry a 37-19 lead into the half. The Eagles held off a rally from the Warriors in the third, outscoring the DCS 15-11, and capped the win with an 11-7 fourth quarter.
Dillon Christian was led by Anthony Williams with 14 points and Matthew Price with 10. Jim Carr added seven points; Jake Boykin, 4; and Luke Price, 2.
Florence Christian was led by Nick Livingston with a game-high 15 points, and Michael Cooper with a triple-double, 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals. Lewis added nine points for the Eagles; Hill, 8; James, 5; Eason, 4; Broach, 4; Smith, 2; and Coker, 2.
The Eagles improved to 4-3 and opened region play with a 1-0 record. The Warriors are 0-7 so far this season.
Dillon Christian will return to action on Tuesday, January 6, when they are scheduled to host Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
