Isabelle Castles George Page, Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, friend and loyal church member was born on April 6, 1917 to the late Jasper Elbert George and Grace Castles George and passed away peacefully in her home at age 97 on January 5, 2015.
Castles attended Winthrop College until she returned home due to the passing of her father in 1936.
She then began a courtship and later married Philip Page on February 26, 1937.
They had a wonderful and fulfilled life for 38 years and out of this union two children were born. Castles was a wonderful homemaker, mother, and wife who also retired from the US Post Office.
She lived a wholesome, conservative, clean, Christian life that was an example to be followed. Castles, Grannie Cassie and Mama, as she was known by her family and friends lost her life partner Philip at age 59, her grandson Marion Porter in 1992, her son-in-law Hubert Porter in 2012 and her sister Dorothy Sherman in 1996.
Castles is survived in life by her daughter Kay Porter, her son Elbert Page (Boots), grandchildren Philip Page (Ruthie), Carolyn McSwain (Tom), Tammy Tucker, great grandchildren Kerri Page, Hugh McSwain, Clay Tucker and Morgan Tucker and long time friend Ernestine Burns. Castles lived a long and blessed life. She enjoyed and was loyal to being a member of the UDOC, Latta Presbyterian Church, the Mary Circle, and the Home Demonstration Club. Castles was also honored and awarded a charter membership of the Dogwood Garden Club in 1998. Castles Page was an inspiring, witty, educated and loving woman whose life values and attributes were respected and admired.
She will be greatly missed by all. Memorials may be made to the Latta Presbyterian Church 110 N Richardson Street Latta, SC 29565.
Services were held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Latta Presbyterian Church with burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
