Services for Mrs. Dorothy Adams Butler were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial at East Marlboro Baptist Church Cemetery in Brownsville. Visitation washeld 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Butler, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Carolina’s Hospital in Florence.
Born in Marion County, SC, June 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Luther Rogers and Marie Cable Rogers. She had lived at Commander Nursing Center for several years, and she worked at Mohawk Carpet for many years. A wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she loved them all.
She leaves behind one daughter, Gloria Brigman (Bobby) of Latta; grandsons, Terry and Teddy Brigman; 4 great-grandchildren, Heather, Elizabeth, Brandon, and Haley; one brother, Clyde Rogers (Kathryn) of Marion, SC; a sister, Virginia Elvington of Phenix City, Alabama. She had two special step-children, Bernice Grooms of Hope Mills, SC and Buddy Adams (Evelyn) of Darlington, SC.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, five siblings, and three grandchildren.
