Dillon’s Lady Wildcats dominated the Lady Lions 89-13 on Friday night in Loris in girls varsity basketball action.
Dillon took a 16-4 lead in the first quarter and was ahead 37-9 at the half. The Wildcats outscored the Lions 52-4 in the second half to cap the win.
Khamele Manning lead the Lady Cats with 29 points, six rebounds, six steals, and four assists, and Adriana McCollum added 14 points in the win. Jelissa Fentzlaff earned 12 points and picked up 18 rebounds, and Kendra McLeod and Cali McRae each added 11 points. McLeod added four points; Tejah Breeden, 3; Shimya Sowells, 3; and Rasheena Colvin, 2.
Loris was led by Lanise Harris with five points. Jasmine Gore added 4; Jasmine Farris, 3; and Myia Bellamy, 1.
Dillon improved to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in Region 8-2A, while Loris slipped 1-11 and 0-4 in the region.
The Lady Wildcats, ranked as the number one team in the state in Class 2A girls basketball, lead the region with an undefeated 4-0 record. Mullins is in second place at 3-1, and Marion is now 2-2 in the region. Waccamaw is 1-3, and Aynor and Loris are both winless in region action.
Dillon will be at Waccamaw tonight and will be back home on Friday to host Aynor at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local team!
