Officer Russell Hubbard, Jr., is fulfilling a dream by working as a police officer at the Latta Police Department.
Hubbard joined the Latta Police Department on July 7th. He graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy on December 19th.
Hubbard said becoming a police officer is something he always wanted to do and that it is an “honorable and respectable profession.” He enjoys being able to help other people.
With there being more challenges for law enforcement officers this day and time, Hubbard stays professional at all times.
He said every day is a different experience and nothing is ever the same. He tries to learn and adapt to every situation. He enjoys every aspect of his job.
Hubbard said while Latta is a small jurisdiction, it has everything needed to grow in the profession.
Hubbard is a Dillon County native and currently resides in Latta. He has a fiancée and a four-year-old daughter.
Hubbard would like to thank Chief Crystal Moore, Assistant Chief Derrick Cartwright, and Lieutenant Bobby Jones. He would also like to thank his best friend, Deputy Richard Lee.
