Services for James Dean “Jamie” Hardwick were held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Pyerian Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Jamie, 28, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in Chesnee, SC.
Born in Aiken, SC, August 7, 1986, he was the son of Daryl Hardwick and Priscilla Wombles Hardwick. He was a member of Pyerian Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army Veteran from June 9, 2004-June 9, 2011. Seven years Jamie was a member of the South Carolina Army National Guard Delta Company 111th Expeditionary Signal Battalion out of Hodges, South Carolina, and also the 151st ESB. He was deployed to Iraq during “Operation Iraqi Freedom” and served there from September 5, 2005 – December 15, 2006. He was a member of the Col. E.T. Stackhouse Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1576 where he served as Webmaster. He was also a charter member of the 7th Brigade Honor Guard, Sons of Confederate Veterans. He graduated from Latta High School Class of 2004, and was employed by Geek Squad as an IT Technician.
Survivors include his mother, Priscilla Lee Hardwick; father, Daryl Lewis Hardwick; sisters, Candice Michelle Hardwick and Nancy Amanda Hardwick; grandmother, Amanda Hardwick; brother, Jason (April) Tice; nephew, Michael Tice; niece, Jolene Tice; special canine friend, Kahn Hardwick.
