The bond was reduced on a man charged with three counts of attempted murder during General Sessions Court last week in front of Judge Paul Burch.

Jallian Vanderhall is accused of a shooting at the Family Dollar in April in which a suspect in a vehicle shot a man and hit two vehicles in the parking lot.
A man speaking on behalf of the victim said Judge Dolphus Carter set the tone when he set a $600,000 bond. He said the defendant showed no regard for human life and that pedestrians could have gotten killed.
Attorney Thurmond Brooker, who is representing Vanderhall, said Vanderhall had significant family ties, and there was nothing to suggest that he was a flight risk.
He said Vanderhall also had a significant record of employment. Brooker said he thought $600,000 was “extremely excessive” and was “tantamount to  no bond at all.”
Judge Burch set a $75,000 surety bond. Vanderhall will be under house arrest from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. If he is caught away, he is to be immediately incarcerated with no further hearing. He is to have GPS monitoring. He is to have no contact with the victim or their families. He is to stay in tourch with his attorney and not miss a court date.
