Ferris Elias “F.E.” Hobeika, Jr., 90, went to be with his Savior, Monday, June 22, 2015, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Dillon First Baptist Church, 400 North Fourth Avenue. A time of fellowship will follow the service. Private burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Donnie Hayes will minister to the family.
Born in Dillon County, June 11, 1925, he was the son of the late F.E. Hobeika, Sr. and Ludia Saleeby Hobeika. He was an industrial mechanic for 28 years with Dupont, was a graduate of Dillon High School, and attended Presbyterian College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Hobeika was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, Army Technician Fifth Grade/9th Traffic Regulation Group, Radio Operator. He received EAME Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Dillon. He served in many capacities including deacon and Sunday School teacher, and Bible Study teacher. He was an active citizen of the Dillon community.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Alice R. Hobeika; two daughters, Lucy Hobeika Huddleston (Tommy) and Donna Hobeika Morton (Jim); grandchildren, Rebecca & Stephen Huddleston and Rachel Huddleston Janowski (Shawn); step-grandsons, John Morton (Susan & family), Phillip Morton (Melinda and family); step-great-grandsons, Shawn & Alex Janowski.
A special Thank You to Brenda Wilson, caregiver and friend, who God provided to assist the family through this challenging time. Much apprecition also goes to friends who have provied emotional, spiritual and financial support! Thank You to Regency Hospice for their compassionate ministry during these days.
