Dillon County First Steps Parents as Teachers Program kick-off Group Connection was held on Thursday, August 6, at the City of Dillon Wellness Center, Dillon.
They are off to a great start as one of Dillon County’s highest level program in the nation, Parents as Teachers Home Visitation Program for Early Childhood Education that serves low-income families with children from ages 0-5.
During the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 the Parents as Teachers Program will focus on four components:
-Weekly Personal home visits by Certified Parent Educators, Mrs. Shantel McRae
-Monthly Parent Group Connections about Early Childhood Development and Parenting
-Development and health screening for young children
-Linkages and referrals to community networks and resources
