The Dillon County Technology Center Faces of CATE recognized Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Breast Cancer Awareness is an important focus worldwide not only in October, but every day of the year. The American Cancer Society’s estimates for breast cancer in women in the United States for 2015 are:
-About 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer
-About 62,290 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) of the breast will be found (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer).
-About 40,290 deaths from breast cancer
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, other than skin cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer.
Finding the cure starts with hope. Together we can fight the fight and find a cure by getting loud – by signing up for a local fundraising event, speaking out for access to quality health care for all, or spreading the word to friends and family. Show you care be aware. For more information http://www.cancer.org
