In an effort to promote literacy, the Lake View High School Media Center sponsored its annual Teen Read Week Celebration October 19-23. Throughout the week, several activities were held, including a Chill and Read event on Monday, Reading Knocks My Socks Off Day on Wednesday, Wild Gators Read Day on Thursday, and a Reading Is Cool Ice Cream Sundae social for the school’s top readers on Friday. Furthermore, over 200 entries were submitted in both the poster and essay competitions during this year’s LVHS Teen Read Week observance. Top honors in the TRW Poster Contest went to Michael Jiron, Cassie Lessieur, and Maleah Carter, while Michael Jiron, Hunter Cox, and Na’Quazia Smith placed for their submissions in the high school level essay competition and Caroline Dale, Joshua Jones, and Hannah Packer won on the middle school level.
