THE DILLON HERALD recently held a food drive for the Dillon County Animal Shelter. Over 1,600 pounds of food was collected along with a few blankets. Also during the time of the drive, First Bank, Carl’s IGA, Latta IGA, Badcock Home Furniture and More, Dillon Tractor & Implement, the City of Dillon, and the County of Dillon helped sponsor ads to “Save A Shelter Pet” while an animal shelter donor defrayed the adoption costs. Thanks to their efforts 35 adult dogs and 15 adult cats were adopted. Dillon County Animal Shelter Director Douglas Pernell said he appreciates all of the donations of food, blankets, and other items and all of those who adopted pets.
