The Dillon County First Steps (DCFS) Annual Board meeting was held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the City of Dillon Wellness Center and the reorganization of the board was approved by the members.
Johnnie Luehrs, chair of the election committee recommends that the following board members be approved as the new officers for one year in the positions indicated: Nina Bradley, Chair; Gabriel Salmon, Sr., Vice Chair; Ressie Jones, Secretary; and Johnnie Luehrs, Assistant Secretary. There were no objections to the recommendations and the vote was unanimous for approval.
Johnnie Luehrs, chair of the election committee presents the following persons to be elected to the board for the 2015-19 term:
– Linda Kelley
-Tonny McNeil
-Nina Bradley
-Kenneth Smith
-Gabriel Salmon, Sr.
The full board voted to approve the new members and there was no objection.
Susan DeVenny, Director of South Carolina First Steps to School Readiness was the keynote speaker for the annual meeting. Director DeVenny addressed the importance of early education and the importance of the First Steps board.
All 2013-15 board members were recognized for their service to Dillon County First Steps.
Years of service plaques were presented to DCFS Staff:
-Shantel McRae, 8 years of service
-Angela Coward, 15 years of service
-Dr. Daniel W. Blue, Jr. 15 years of service
The 2015-19 Dillon County First Steps Partnership Board is: Nina Bradley, Monique Covington, Ressie Jones, Linda Kelley, Mary B. Kinney, George Liebenrood, Rachelle Lighty, Johnnie Luehrs, Alisha McCall, Tonny McNeil, Doretha Page, Gabriel Salmon, Sr., Reginald Scott, and Kenneth Smith.
