MARGARET DESSER was chosen to compete in the Kelly Cup Drill Competition at The Citadel on October 10, 2015. Her squad, representing Palmetto Battery Company, placed 2nd out of 21 companies competing. This competition is held annually at The Citadel during Parent’s Weekend. Margaret is a freshman at The Citadel and one of only two women in her company. Women make up on seven percent of the approximately 2300 cadets at The Citadel. Margaret is the daughter of Mark Desser and Lesa Bethea of Dillon. Margaret is pictured here, 3rd from the left, as her squad awaits the competition to begin.
