Morris Wayne Jackson slipped away into eternity on Sunday, November 29, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on June 17, 1944, he was he was the son of the late James Walter and Bessie Morris Jackson. He served honorably for three years in the United States Army in Vietnam. In 1969 he married the love of his life Patty. To this happy union were born two children, Joanna and Vic. He will be missed by his many friends from Dillon Yarn where he retired after almost 30 years of faithful service. He was also a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Wayne lived a happy life and brought laughter and joy to the lives of all those he came in contact with. He was preceded in death by his parents James Walter and Bessie Jackson, his sisters, Jenny Kaye Jackson and Roxie Lee, and his son “Vic.” Left to carry on his memory are his wife Patty, his daughter Joanna of Dillon, his beloved grandson Donavon; brothers Jerry (Juanita) of Lake View, Glenn (Lisa), and Richard, both of Dillon; sister, Wanda of Dillon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was at 2 p.m.Wednesday with funeral services at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and Graveside service immediately following at Greenlawn Cemetery.
