Sellers – John “Joa” Oliver Allen, Jr., 67, died Monday, February 29, 2016 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Magnolia Cemetery in Latta, SC.  The family will receive friends after the service.  Kannaday Funeral Home is assisting the family in Dillon, SC.
Joa was born at Saint Eugene’s Hospital in Dillon, SC on May 8, 1948, the son of the late John Oliver and Katherine Elizabeth Bethea Allen. Mr. Allen was a member of Latta Southern Methodist Church, Pineland Grange #549, and the Hustelt Flying Foxes.  He was a friend to all.    
He is survived by his brother, Robert M. Allen of Sellers, SC; sister, Catherine Allen Halloway (John) of Wing, AL; niece and nephew; and friendly companion, his dog “Nate.”
